I had an old, but very favorite dress in my closet. The design seemed cool, but the style was out of fashion, and I didn't want to wear it as before. It was a pity to throw it away, so I decided to try to change something. In the end I shortened it, added a belt and sewed a little on the sides - it turned out to be a completely different dress! It looks fresh and modern. Now I'm thinking that maybe other things can be altered too. Has anyone else done this? What changes can be made to make it look new?

In general, it's a cool idea to remake things rather than buy new ones. Especially if the fabric is high quality and the style can be updated. I have an old jacket that I was thinking of throwing away, but now I'm wondering if it could be freshened up too. Add new zippers, change the lining or something else. A lot of people are upcycling now - it's trendy and environmentally friendly.
